Is having 20 lessons fairly average?
Hi guys, I just got out of the hospital 3 days ago after a treatment of Apheresis (Therapeutic Plasma Exchange) after my second relapse. My first indicator was optic neuritis in October of 23. About 2 1/2 weeks ago I presented to the hospital with persistent blurry vision in the other eye but this time it didn't hurt. So I really didn't want to believe it was a relapse. But other signs were there sometimes I have difficulty remembering how to swallow and my balance/coordination is not always good. But when my MRI results came back they said I have 20 lessons on my brain and spinal cord. To me this sounds very severe but none of the neurologists seemed very concerned. I have a follow up with my neurologist to be staged but I'm very nervous.
From the people I have spoken to if Ms goes undetected for several years and is allowed to relapse as it wants too then yes I'd say it's not unheard of to have 20 lesIons on a scan.
You can ask your doctor or nurse to go over your MRI with you. I think the location and size matter and the spinal ones have more impact on movement.
