Pain After Lumbar Puncture

I had my lumbar puncture done yesterday and today I'm still in a lot of pain, paracetamol and ibuprofen aren't helping- it feels like I've had a rock injected into my back! Haha Anyone else had any problems? What should I expect? Lumbar Puncture virgin until yesterday!

I didn’t have pain in my back after the initial procedure but had to go back for a blood patch after suffering from the dreaded spinal headache. The second procedure was awful. Hang in there and be gentle with yourself. It took several weeks for the pain to go away but it eventually got better over time.

If the pain is getting worse (or already very bad), call the hospital that did the lp. You may need a blood patch, fluids and some stronger pain killers!
