Hello
Hi everyone, I’m new here 👋 I was diagnosed in December 2024, my first symptom was numbness in my legs back in 2021-22, then optic neuritis in 2023 had landed me in the hospital and so began my MS journey. During that time I was just a few wks shy of moving from upstate NY to the UK for school - it was wild going from no medical issues to a lifelong condition while navigating a new country and their healthcare system. It all worked out though (prob for the better) and now I’ve been on Kesimpta since February. Brain fog is the most prevalent and frustrating symptom - especially when I’m in school and writing a dissertation 🫠 if anyone has advice, I’d greatly appreciate it! I’m happy to have found this community and I’m excited to connect over our stories/struggles/triumphs and offer support 🙂
Welcome! My piece of advice is taken plenty of time out for rest. Studying is hard work & you need to be at your best so be kind to yourself - eat well, drink plenty of fluids (try to go light on alcohol!). I am much older than you, but I went back to 'college' to study Egyptology - something I'd wanted to do for a long time. I was still working full time too! I finished the course successfully with University of Manchester (it was an online course for 3 years). If you set your mind to it & don't try to do too much at once I'm sure you will be successful too. All the best
@ClaireVS thank you! I am actually 4+ yrs sober; but now sweets/pastries are my downfall, so I need to be more mindful and I could def increase my fluid intake 🫣🫶thank u!
