First lumbar puncture approaching
Hey everyone 👋 I was diagnosed with ms at the end of last month but I haven't met with 'my' neurologist yet to see what type I have or what treatments are suitable etc.
I have my first lumbar puncture on Thursday (outpatient) and I'm getting a bit nervous about it - fear of the unknown type of vibes - and I just wondered what everyone else's experiences were like? Not even the literal procedure, like how long did the whole hospital visit take? Was it boring? Sore? Difficult?
Any insights would be appreciated 👍

I found it boring but wasn’t sore or anything it was fast so wasn’t in there long x
My experience was very positive. The whole procedure took about 30mins and with the local anaesthetic I had no pain from the procedure and zero issues after it. It was done by a Physician Associate who explained every step of what she was doing clearly which definitely helped. Hope you have a positive experience.🤞🤞🤞
