Tysabri side effects
Hi. I have recently been diagnosed with RRMS and will be taking Tysabri after finding a new doctor and making a mutual decision together for the best treatment option. Since I am scheduled to take my first dose of Tysabri next week, I am not sure of what to expect since this will be my first DMT. Are there any side effects after having the first infusion and how does the first week after injection look like in terms of side effects and adjustment to the medication as well as long term?
Hi, I was on tysabri as my first dmt. The things i remember were that after my first few infusions I needed to rest in the afternoon, though not everyone finds this. My advice for infusion day, make sure you drink plenty before and after the infusion. Take something to do like a book or film on your phone to keep your mind off things. The week after I dont remember feeling worse other than that first day of the infusion. Tysabri was my first dmt too. One of the best you can take in my opinion. Kept me relapse free for nearly ten years, even then it wasn't tysabri, it was coming off tysabri that made me relapse after 2 years. As to side effects you can look these up but there really isn't any reason to. Your nurses will be able to explain everything on your infusion day. Wishing you all the best!
I love Tysabri. I have virtually no side effects besides being a little bit tired afterwards! Like @Nute83 said, just bring something to do to make the time go by faster! I have my whole day cleared afterwards so I can just relax. I’ve been on it for almost a year & have nothing bad to say about it.
