Walking issues
Recently I have been experiencing a lurching gait, as well as just feeling a little extra wobbly on my feet and this I feel is starting to affect me more frequently as the days go on.
I had an appointment in my MS RELAPSE CLINIC but after assessment they said I am not having a relapse, but due to my spine being heavily affected by the disease my balance and coordination is probably never going to be the same again.
I have RRMS (diagnosed officially in may this year although told for 5 years it’s MS or something similar) so i have only 2 lesions in my brain aswell as a “fuzzy funny blob” as my neurologist says. But my spine is a lot further affected with almost all of my spine being affected in my MRI.
Is anyone able to suggest how I can make myself feel a little better and a little less embarrassed when walking? I’m unsure if at this stage I need a crutch or stick but at this point I will try anything

Unfortunately we all get attacked and go through stages. I do whatever you need to feel safe. Assuming just gets us hurt because we're not the healthy version anymore. Any changes try not to ignore them, they could be subtle hints at changes needed
First, welcome, and I’m sorry you’re one of us, but with diagnosis comes information. My lesions are in my brain, not spine, so no good tips but all I’ve learned from this wise community. Dr. Gretchen has a lot of content in her podcast and on YouTube about exercises to improve walking. She talks MS. If you do need an aid, use one. If you have poor vision, you wear glasses, right? And if you try one,you don’t have to use it forever! Maybe there are just some situations (when you’re tired?) that warrant it. Good luck, and keep searching. ☘️
