Medication question
Has anyone tried avonex before???
Just looking for peoples thoughts on it I’m doing baseline bloods on Friday to begin this treatment during my pregnancy.
I have not started the Kesimpta due to becoming pregnant and haven’t heard of avonex before neurology phoned to discuss alternatives to Kesimpta that are pregnancy safe
Congratulations! Avonex was the first medication and I was on it I think 8 years, it worked well for me for years. I did experience flu symptoms with my first few injections and after the first injection heart palpitations. everyone is different though so you may not experience those affects if any at all. I wish you well and hope your pregnancy and birth go well 🙂
I was put on Avonex when I 8was first diagnosed in 2003. On it for only 8 months. My first neurologist referred me to my current MS specialist when he realized something was not right. Apparently my body broke the drug down in my system to quickly and it had no lasting effect on me, the doctor couldn't understand what was happening with me and he did another MRI and some blood tests and decided to switch my meds. I have been going to the same specialist group since 2004 and in Betaseron and haven't made a change and no real progress since the beginning. I know everyone is different, but I hope this helps.
