It’s very natural to have worry over the unknown especially if newly diagnosed. I started Kesimpta shortly after diagnosis and was keen to start asap because I had heard that dmt’s are much better than they have ever been in preventing future relapses. I’ve been on Kesimpta for a year now and have had no more relapses. I noticed after a few weeks of starting the treatment that my symptoms started to improve and also felt great the day after an injection. Could have been placebo but I’ll take the small wins. I felt rough on the day of my first injection but after that it’s been fine. I do administer it before bed so I sleep through any side effects. Being on treatment has made me less scared of the unknown that’s for sure. I try not to think too far ahead on what might happen because that is out of my control. I can control the present day and that’s the best way to be with ms in my opinion. Good diet and exercise and prioritizing the things you enjoy are key to good health. All that along side a good dmt are the way to go in my opinion. Down side to Kesimpta is being more prone to infection but it’s not been that bad. I’ve had a few viral infections I’ve caught from my son who’s at nursery so he brings home all sorts! Had to go on antibiotics a few times but I normally try to manage without. If I end up with a fever then I’d go on antibiotics because it makes my ms worse. The dmt doesn’t make my ms worse. It keeps it at bay. We’re lucky we have these treatments. All the best

Dmts are to slow progression of the disease, not stop symptoms. It all depends where the damage is. Dmts don't heal the damage. Dmts stop new lesions and new damage
