How many people have MS with other autoimmune disorder?
Hi,
I hate the way my body has decided to betray me.
It started with MS 15 years ago. Not a big deal in a way before it was official I had pretty much figured it out. I am an NP.
In March of 2021 while at work in an ER. I told a coworker I thought I was have a heart attack we got me into a room and ran a strip that came back normal. I went on seeing people for the next few hours until I could passed out. 4 hours later all ready in a room I learned that I had Bilateral pulmonary embolism. Both lungs were full. Over the next few days countless test, blood draws every 4 hours. To learn I had Hughes, Sjogren's syndrome, and Lupus.
After spending the last 3 months with inflammation (which in its self is scary as i am also in early stages of heart failure) that could not be controlled with medication my doctor informed me in December that she thinks I have Hashimoto's. Did the blood work December 31, results came back positive today.
I just wait to sit down and cry. I am strong but not this strong.
Similarly, I have MS , Sjogren’s and Raynaud’s (where your fingers and toes turn white from lack of blood flow). I suspect it is common to have various autoimmune conditions at the same time. I am sorry tht you are going through so much all at once. Life is hard enough without having to cope with multiple medical issues. I am a firm believer that sometimes things get so rough that I kind of feel myself going on auto-pilot—-where I pray a lot for God to help me move through each day and to help me mentally cope as well. For me, I think all of this has caused me to suppress ALL of my emotions…to the point that I can’t really cry anymore and it takes an awful lot to make me laugh out loud. I’m not the person I wanted to be at this age. Praying for you today! There is HOPE. For me my hope is in Christ.
