My regular neurologist diagnosed me with ms in August based on my MRIs, blood work and lumbar puncture. I have more than 5 bands, blood work excludes everything else and my MRIs only show a lesion in my cervical spine and lesion in my brain. There were a couple other things in my brain that were not for sure lesions. He sent me to a specialist who then said she would only say transverse myelitis until I repeated the scans. She thought maybe there were artifacts on the scans and wanted them repeated. She said if they came back the same, she would confirm diagnosis and start dmts. She is also having me do a series of eye exams. I did repeat the MRIs and they were exactly the same (only 3 months separate the scans). So then would she diagnose and then start the dmts? Is it too quick to start meds? I feel it’s quick.
