Relapses lasting 7 months

I’m newly diagnosed with RRMS and my flair up has lasted 7 months already. I had my first dose of Tysabri last week and I’m just wondering if anyone’s relapse has improved and severe symptoms have got better? I feel like I’m fighting a losing battle at the moment.

It depends. There are symptoms and side effects that just don’t go away like extreme fatigue. Depends on what you’re battling with. If your current medicine is not working I would ask your doctor to switch it up until you find one that works for you.

Tysabri won't help speed up the easing of your symptoms from your last relapse. It will however prevent future relapses occurring (hopefully) thus slow the general progression of the disease over time. In general my relapses have taken about six months from when the symptoms are fully blown on day one to when they become residual. Flare ups Of the residual symptoms do happen from time to time due to coughs codes heat waves etc.
