I have been seriously Donald Ducked by a recent relapse. As a result of a new lesion, I have pretty much lost the use of my right hand. I can't write, can't draw, can't paint, can't even do my ruddy shoe laces up anymore. So given a choice between giving up and learning to use my left hand, I am determined to do the latter. Being interested in wargames miniatures and art etc. I am reminded of the extremely talented sculptor Michael Perry. For those of you who are unfamiliar with his work, he is one of the best miniature sculptors in the world! Like me, he was right-handed and like me he took part in reenactment. It was in 1996 that he took part in a reenactment of the Battle of Crécy (1346). Whilst loading a Medieval cannon, the charge went off prematurely- it completely shattered his right hand and arm- and his right arm had to be amputated below the arm. He learnt to use his left hand instead for sculpting and other things, rather than 'give up.' I just wanted to ask if anyone else has been through a similar situation or can recommend any reading/information to help me to start using my left hand. Thanks in advance.
