I’m sorry to hear that, Valarie. I hope you’re doing ok. This won’t make you feel better, I know, but having both those conditions makes you very unusual. One of the few advantages of MS is that it means we have a lower incidence of disorders like Parkinson’s or dementia. I’ve done a quick literature search and patients with both Parkinson’s and MS are described in the literature but no-one can tell which came first - did Parkinson’s make you more vulnerable to MS or vice versa? Anyway, there are effective treatments available for both now - I’m sure your physician will discuss. And really the only way in which they’ll be able to tell if your symptoms are caused by MS or PD is to start you on an anti-Parkinsonian drug and see! Good luck.
Ah I’m sorry, that is rough. I have early onset Parkinsons in the family (sister, mum and aunt) so it is one of my fears. Like the previous poster says there are effective treatments and I have watched my mum have a really good quality of life for over 2 decades.
