Are MRI scanners getting noisier?

Had an MRI today in a brand new scanner. Thought the noise was louder than previous MRIs I have had done in recent years. It was so loud my eyes were jumping around. Anyone else think the MRI scan process has got noisier?

My last one was like 8 months ago and was loud enough already hope it isn’t gonna get louder

Seems that way doesn’t it? The last MRI had was in an older machine that was new to the imaging company 15 years ago and it was definitely loud. Valium and earplugs help!
