Come again?!…this med is how much per tx?!

Ok MS group, I saw a specialist in San Fran a couple of weeks ago and he determined that I am actually dealing with PPMS vs RRMS and thinks I need to be on Ocrevus vs my current dmt. $70,000 a year for two treatments…seriously?! I choked! MS might actually take my life from shock and awe rather than the disease! But seriously, is this for real? I haven’t been authorized to switch yet and idk what my out of pocket will be but you have got to be kidding me! 😳😳😳😳
@Mondaygirl22

One friend of mine was on Ocrevus for three years and she had an insurance break that covered the 10,000 that her insurance didn’t cover well that’s done so either she has to pay 10,000 or she has to switch her DMT 😪

I work for a healthcare company and the infusion center and everything is in-network. Before insurance, it’s $175,000 for one Ocrevus infusion. Keep in mind I get them twice a year. -.- However, with my insurance, my out of pocket maximum is $2000/year, so that’s all I would have to pay for healthcare. I would highly recommend working in healthcare and also getting an FSA (flex spending account) and signing up for the ocrevus co pay program. Your neurologist should be well informed about it so you can ask them but they normally help people with up to $20,000 for the ocrevus each year depending on how much they make annually, which I qualified because I made under $50,000. I don’t know what the cut off is though, could be like $100,000? Just gotta look into it.
