Too crippled at 35
Apparently according to my mum, I shouldn’t be using walking stick or Rollator at 35. I’m too young!! Makes me feel like I shouldn’t be like this and questioning myself, I already have low self esteem and always self conscious. And I just can’t relay the fact that my illness is getting worse and there’s not much I can do about it….
Remember you can choose your friends. You sadly can’t choose your relatives, but you can say, “by using these walking aids I maintain my independence, if this makes you feel uncomfortable that’s your problem not mine”. She may not like it buts it’s her choice not yours. Find your voice, you can be strong, that one of the superpowers that you can get from MS, that sheer gutsy determination! Wishing you well!
What a load of rubbish! Your mum has no idea how you feel day to day, and if using those things give you confidence, then honestly, she can just shut up ❤️
