Stiff hands
Does anyone get stiff/painful hands? I mainly get it in the morning but I do also get it throughout the day. Especially using tools, eg utensils, stationery (pens, pencils etc), knives etc. If so what do you do to relieve the pain? I normally use a electric hot water bottle (but as it’s hot I can’t use it, but I can’t use ice packs either cos that makes it worse). I also wear compression gloves which helps a little but not with the pain. Thanks in advance.
Due to my MS most muscles in my body are 'tight' and doing just about anything will cause them to retract and quickly howl in pain and stiffness. I will usually try to flex/stretch them out, especially in my hands as I use those most of anything, but sometimes I have to grin and bear it/them.
Yes, painful hands. In fact painful elbows and downwards. If I don't get numbness in my arms then I get pain. I wake up regularly at night with pain or numb arms and hands. It really pi$$es me off. Docs have put me on Gabapentin for spasticity but they don't really want to know. They can't see any lesions or compressed discs in the area which could be causing it so they fob me off and gaslight me. Or at least that's how I feel. I get l'hermittes sign when laying in bed and my saddle area is numb. Which causes issues down below. I didn't sign up for this..............................................Welcome to the cheap seats
