I recently applied for disability. I was denied and have procured an attorney to appeal. Anyone have thoughts on how disability works if you do not have enough work credits for the 5 years prior to claiming disability? I have worked my entire life except for one year which of course, fell within the 5 year period. Seems insane that you pay into the system since you are 15 and you aren’t able to claim disability due to one year you did not work.
