If you've never heard of Fortnite, here's the simple version. Up to 100 players drop onto an island. You search for weapons, shields and supplies while the safe zone gets smaller. The aim is simply to be the last team standing. If you win, you get a Victory Royale. I'd be playing Zero Build, which means there's no building giant towers. It's much easier for beginners to pick up. The best bit, though, isn't the game. It's the microphones. You jump into a squad of up to four people and spend an hour chatting while playing. We end up talking about life, work, MS, kids, films, football... anything really. Half the laughs come from someone doing something daft in-game. It's free to play and works across Xbox, PlayStation, PC, Nintendo Switch and many Android devices, so almost anyone can join.
