My Body Has Built a New Fingernail Without Consulting Neurology

My Body Has Built a New Fingernail Without Consulting Neurology A few weeks ago, I slammed my hand in the car door. Nail turned black. Then fell off. Absolutely horrific scenes. Looked like my finger had been repossessed. But then something incredible happened... IT GREW BACK. Now here's the bit that made me laugh. This nail did not exist before I was diagnosed with MS. This is a post-diagnosis nail. A brand-new, factory-fresh, 2026 model fingernail. And what a nail. Straight. Strong. No lesions. No progression. No enhancing activity. Neurologically stable. 😂😂😂 My body has grown an entire new fingernail without a referral, MRI, blood test, lumbar puncture or a 14-month waiting list. Just quietly cracked on with it. I didn't even have to chase the MS nurses. No letter saying: "Dear Sir, we are pleased to confirm that following your recent trauma, funding has been approved for one replacement fingernail." Nothing. My finger just launched its own regeneration programme. And it's done a bloody good job. I've spent years reading about everything my body supposedly can't do anymore. Meanwhile, my finger has been running a small construction company. Planning permission approved. Materials ordered. Contractors on site. Project delivered on time. It's one of the most successful public sector projects I've ever witnessed. Obviously, growing a fingernail isn't the same as repairing MS damage. But it was a funny little reminder that my body is still doing an incredible amount of things right. Feed it properly. Move it. Rest it. Look after it. And appreciate the small wins. Even if the small win is attached to your finger. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent replacement nail. Would recommend. Installation process was fucking horrendous.
