Functional medicine ๐Ÿ’Š๐ŸŒฟ

If anyone is thinking about functional medicine I wish I had seen someone else who has tried it. I came across functional medicine when I felt my MS was starting to take over. I had been through texfiders, tysabari and 2 rounds of lemtrada and even though I had had some really great symptom free periods but they were never lasting. I have always prioritised my health regularly exercising and eating healthy but It got to a point where I could feel MS symptoms day and night. I was advised to start taking gabapantin by my Neuro which I was not prepared to do before knowing I had tried everything else. In my desperation I found function medicine and it's changed my life. I took my diet back to scratching following the AIP protocol for 90 days and have kept my diet whole foods from then on which is actually easy. As we know many things about this condition is that it's mind over matter. I took all the herbal supplements and the things the Dr found in my body started to make so much sence. I felt I was healing from the inside out. I would say it is bloody expensive which is a shame as it's so beneficial. Now with a healthy gut and detoxed organs my ms feels calmer and when I have a symptom it becomes clearer to understand. If anyone is considering it then I really would encourage giving it a try! Iโ€™m interested in learning more about functional medicine. Do you take anything for gut health aside from following the AIP diet? I find vitamins make the biggest difference in how I feel but not sure if itโ€™s all in my head.
