Just working and raising kids. Need five years for my pension so trying to stay productive till then. Investing what I can for the future. Anything past that is gravy.
I increased my contributions to my retirement account so that I can use it if I end up having to stop working before usual retirement. I also try to keep up on maintenence of my house and cars in case my income depletes. I bought private disability insurance because in the United States, I won't be able to apply for Social Security Disability until I haven't worked for a full year. The private disability insurance covers that year of income. I always keep 80 hours of PTO in my bank at work because my private disability has a 14 day waiting period. I can use vacation time to cover that 2 week paycheck. My daughters have discussed amongst themselves, how they're going to take care of me if I can't live alone. I'm doing my best to stay active and keep working to stay ahead of the MS. That's about the extent of what I've done so far.
