Men with MS: what has helped?

If MS has affected your erections, what do you use or what has worked for you? I'd appreciate hearing your experiences.

Worth getting your testosterone levels checked, especially if you've also noticed low sex drive, fatigue or loss of muscle. Low testosterone can affect mood, libido and erections, but simply having more testosterone isn't automatically better. The boring old-fashioned stuff can genuinely help: good sleep, decent diet, resistance training, maintaining a healthy weight and getting enough protein and nutrients. Building muscle and improving your general fitness can make a surprising difference to confidence, energy and sexual health. If you're over 30 and dealing with MS fatigue, it can be harder to get all those things lined up, but give a sensible strength programme a few months and you might be surprised by the difference. If symptoms persist, speak to your GP. They can check morning testosterone levels and other possible causes, and medications such as sildenafil can also help some men. Testosterone replacement is really for men with symptoms and confirmed low testosterone, not something I'd inject just to boost performance. Sometimes the boring stuff works. Sleep, lift, eat well, get your bloods checked. You might be surprised what adding a bit of muscle and getting fitter can do for the machinery downstairs. 😂
