Just incase you didn't know
Picking yourself up by the bootstraps is physically impossible, the origin of the saying was sarcastic to imply a task is impossible.
Yes hard work is important but guess what? Living with a disability IS the hard work, if sustaining a healthy diet, personal hygiene and home maintenance it too difficult for you it's not because you are lazy or not working hard enough, it's because you literally have a disability that limits your mental and/or physical capacity.
It's hard to remember but If today all you did was survive, you still did amazing! You worked so hard to stay alive, all we can hope for is to do a little more tomorrow, and even if you dont, its okay, you've got this! one small step at a time 💜
Thanks so much for the reminder that slacking off on taking care of things…the house, the laundry, the shopping….is not a failure. It is going to happen…NOT because we are lazy…but because something has to give! You can’t tell yourself that you should be able to DO IT ALL because things do change. It is hard to make the mental adjustment to be OK with letting some things slide. And asking for help, I still do struggle with asking for help. But thanks for the reminder it is OK to SLOW IT DOWN for your own ultimate good. GOd bless and Happy Friday!😁🙌🏼
