About yesterday's post

Please can people think before commenting on people's posts who are on the edge of a mental breakdown. If life is too tough for someone, they physically cannot get out of bed or take care of themselves and they clearly have tried everything they know in terms of trying to access support to be able to better their quality of life. Telling them just to try harder " not to let it beat you" or something along those lines is only going to make them feel more shame and guilt about the situations that are leading them to feeling hopeless and overwhelmed In the first place. Nobody's first thought is suicide, it is the last resort, they have fought with all their strength for so long and still suffering so much that they cannot see any kind of silver lining. Telling them to add a million more tasks is just going to push them over the edge. When someone is suffering like that what is needed is physical support, signposting to lesser known charities that can help, and a listening ear. Not more tasks to do. There's already too many tasks for a body that can barely move, process thoughts or stay sat upright for long. Being unable to complete tasks is the whole problem in the first place . Also giving them bog standard advice they've heard 100x before is also unhelpful. Everyone knows to eat well but eating well is a privilege afforded to those with both the money and energy to cook balanced meals. Everyone knows to excersise but again if the person cannot cope with cooking a single meal a day or taking a shower, how are they going to excersise without appropriate support in place like a knowledgeable physio therapist and effective pain management medications? It's not a mental health issue. It's a situational problem and if their situation were to get better the ideation would no longer be around.

People are so dumb on social media.

I never said this but I’d help out if I could; I’d help only because I know what others feel regarding this absurd illness. 🤕
