I really miss dancing

I was at a Drum & Bass event on Saturday night because my BFF was DJing. I was diagnosed 3? yrs ago with pins n needles in both legs and exhaustion and really poor balance. I was diagnosed after MRIs and the usual battery of exclusionary blood tests. I used to go clubbing/ raving every weekend, like for the past 25 yrs. Looking back I can see my unsteadiness and falling down while dancing in the past few years wasn't because I was suddenly too old to hold my liquor in my late 40s (I'm from Wisconsin, enough said.) So right before and after my flare I was suddenly cut off from 90% of my social life of clubbing and concert going ( I can't stand for more than 5 minutes unaided.) Even with PT to basically teach me to walk again. I mourned losing these things really hard, music was my life. Stopping cold turkey ( I did try going out with ADA accomodations a few times but it mostly sucked.) threw me into a deep depression ( which I have to deal with anyway since that is already a lifelong medical issue for me.) So many caveats. The point is, last weekend I tried to dance without lifting my feet ( an old skill from overcrowded dance floors and packed concerts). It didn't work. I got very tippy and had to stop. My balance said "nope!" So I'm dejected and just looking to commiserate with other people feeling this loss. This is why I'm on the app.

Hey former glow stick hustler from back in the day. Still enjoying my electronic/house music while I can't do the dancing I'm rockin headphones and tapping my feet while the beat reminds me of the dancing days. I totally get what you're feeling the music now is part of my therapy. What you listening to now? I feel you can learn a lot from someone by their playlist. Keep your head up ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿงก๐ŸŽง
