I don't try and fight it anymore, I always found it a losing battle trying to fight it.

So now I just let it do it's thing and wash over me.

... making sure I'm sat on the sofa of course.

I use organic cocoa as it contains flavanoids which have apparently been proven to help people with MS in managing fatigue. Also a daily vitamin D supplement. I followed a fatigue management programme run locally which follows the FACETS model set up by the MS society, you could see if they offer that locally? It covers elements such as pacing and prioritisation that can be very helpful. 

I couldn't do much during the day because of the fatigue and yet I felt exhausted every evening and was able to sleep 10-12 hours a night on top of naps in the daytime.  So I spoke to my neuro at my last appointment and asked for a prescription for Modafinil.  It's made a big difference for my fatigue.  I take 100mg when I first get up, and another 100mg around noon.  I'm now able to get a few things done around the house during the daytime and feel more alert.  Still tired at bedtime, so I'm still sleeping a lot, but it's nice not to nap away every day.  I was starting to feel purposeless because I didn't have the energy to get anything done.  Feeling better now.  

Hi this is my main problem. When I feel well I know I over do it as I want to be normal so I cram loads in my day ,and then I have days where I just flop and my body is like a lead weight. I'm now trying to pace myself by planning my days and by including a nap each day when fatigue hits. I also over nap when I go for a half hour sleep but sleep for hours which also isn't good. I'm now setting a alarm so I don't do this and try not to press snooze 🙈as my ms nurse said 30-45 mins should b nap time scale. It's so hard as my mind wants me to do loads but my body is saying slow down I can't cope. I'm learning now I need to pace myself and do what I need to do each day and what I want to do when I'm feeling well enough x

Pace yourself, this is the new “normal” don’t do too much when you feel good ‘cause you know what’s coming. Naps and Amantadine are great

Good point about not trying to do too much when we feel good. 
How does Amantadine help you, and any side effects ?
My neuro wants me to try it and is asking my GP to prescribe it.  We’re waiting for the letter to come through though. 🙄

Amandine keep me from falling asleep too early in the evening if I take it at the right time ie around 5 ish. Not noticed any side affects and been using it a while 

@ned_ouwell diet is a big one, cutting gluten and avoiding saturated fat, dairy and refined sugar helps me a ton.  Also, cooler shower in the morning. And exercises with the MS Gym. 


oh and having massage and staying well hydrated.

I can’t nap no matter how exhausted and drained I am so I was given amantadine which worked really well, but gave me bad dry mouth so now I’m prescribed adderall. Hope you find something that works.
