change in MS ideas
I was diagnosed in 2006 with 'agressive' MS. I was told at the time I had the 'viking' disease (which I thought was pretty cool 🙂), told that it was people in the northern hemisphere that got it ( vit D deficiency), people from hot countries didn't-even people with darker skin didn't (&I know now this is entirely wrong 😬) I was told it was an autoimmune disease, then it was neurological, stress caused & now Glandular Fever could be a factor 😬 it's amazing to me in nearly 20 years all these changes in opinions have occured. Anyone else noticed this 🤔
Yes the researchers have been obsessed with Vit deficiency since I’ve been diagnosed. Stuck in a loop & never seem to get anywhere with it. 20+ years of my knowing. In recent years I saw a study mentioned that 70% of people in Scotland suffer from vitamin D deficiency without knowing D3 suppliments should be more promoted & used by many in my own view. Might well minimise the constant NHS gripes about broken bones & bad teeth. Vit D supplements are over priced & rarer to see on shelves in your average pharmacy (where I am). You won’t get enough Vit D in a healthy diet. People generally think it’s lack of Vit C and pop them whilst they eat an orange 🤣 Doctors in general overlook it, the obsessed white collar advocates for better health in parliaments ignore it. They would rather debate for hours to kill people. Says all I need to know about those devils. Of course I have selfish reasons to state having MS but oldies in retirement homes should be getting more of it, just 1 example I mention. Known 2 that have lived in them during my life & they got none of it but had accidents resulting in hospital treatment. In general - for people that don’t go outdoors as much. I lived & worked in the Canary Islands around the time of your own diagnosis. For me MS almost cleared up getting so much from the mighty sun god a few years. When I returned to Scotland in 2008, symptoms returned about a month later 😬😂
after our conversation I went & sat in my SE UK garden on a lovely cloudy/ sunny morning. I 'shock horror' wore no sun lotion coz I was only sat out there for 1/2 hr def got a nice dose of vit D. Thanks for that 🥹
