I'm really sorry that I can't relate to what your going through as I work for a large government organization where things like that arnt allowed to happen. The only advice I can offer is ask to have their decision in writing or an email so it can be used as evidence if a dispute was to occur. 6 months off due to an official disability then return to work is not "unreliable".

I've emailed asking for their official clarification on the subject. It was a work colleague who is just above who told me this (he tells me anything I need know) and he saw an email from hr not about me but in general. I won't take this laying down if it's deemed to be true I was supposed to get the job before last Christmas then suddenly after a week off with nerve pain the job was pulled.
