Kesimpta
My ms journey has transitioned to SPMS. I am in my second month of starting Kesimpta. for those of that use Kesimpta what improvements did see? Not a cure, did you have any incremental improvements?
Also, has anyone used Botox shots to help manage a foot drop.
I’m trying to learn how to manage the disease that the ups and downs are tough. I’ll have a few good days and be hopeful that things are leveling off and then I’ll have a few bad days the MS roller coaster ride is real. Thank you
Hi, mainly I noticed that my relapses settled. The ups and downs I find a real challenge. I find it best to try to factor them in and add a bit of slack in my scheduling. Im getting better at saying 'No' / prioritising going only what I really want to do. Sounds like you have a weak ankle. Does your foot droop/flop or is it being pulled down due to calf spasticity/tightness? Botox might be useful for the latter as it is intended to help reduce calf spasticity in this case i.e. reduce the strength of the involuntary contraction in the calf due to spasticity. Calf stretches with knee straight and knee bent may also help if calf is tight. If it is droopy without the tightness botox is unlikely to be needed, just strengthening of the toe lifters (dorsiflexors) or a shoe device to help the toes be/stay up (e.g. SaeboStep or an AFO). All the very best.
@AlJen thank you for sharing. I will certainly ask my Dr about Botox. Keep taking care of yourself. 😊
