Hi, I'm in exactly the same situation as you, I've tried lots of different pain killers and as you say it just takes the edge off. Ive just started coming off Pregabalin and onto Carbamazepine along with duloxetine to see if that helps.
I also am on similar meds. I get icy cold burning pain in my arms and legs. I have been on pregabalin 100 3x per day for a long time. Also duloxetine 60 mg 1x per day. Just recently they added a boost of 30mg duloxetine at night. I think it has provided some relief, but it is always there and gets worse mid day. Most recently I was prescribed Provigil for Fatigue. I only took it one day (not to be taken every day). It definitely gave me a boost to stay awake and keep moving during the day…which was great. It also seemed to me to suppress my pain. (Or that may have been a result of the fact that I WAS ABLE to keep moving). Worth asking your doctor whether occasional use of this on days when you are trying to do activities would be advised.
