Donating blood

Has anyone donated bloods since being diagnosed. I know my treatment affects the B cells and blood donation needs haemoglobin so that's 2 separate things. But how does that affect your MS as removing blood would then mean your body would need to generate more which would mean an increase in B cells too, so how would that affect the MS? I want to donate and this sounds awful, but don't want to set myself up for adverse effects.
@HollyF

Hi, sadly we cannot donate blood once we have a diagnosis of MS. I used to donate blood but had to inform them when diagnosed and was told I can no longer donate :-( I can't remember the reasoning (there was a lot going on at the time!)

@HollyF thank you. I did try to donate years back but about 2 weeks after I got a letter saying thanks but no thanks and they couldn't use my blood. I asked did that mean just then or ever? And was told probably never, but they then said it was probably because I had a virus (which turned out to be MS), but they never gave a proper reason. So I wondered if anyone had donated with MS. Years of telling the gp I wasn't well and years of being told I had a virus. 20 years later a young locum doctor takes me seriously, refers me, and low behold I've had MS all these years. When will doctors take us seriously when we who know our own bodies say something is not right!!
