Almost sent home
I almost got sent home from the OCREVUS unit today, because I have a cold.
I knew I wouldn’t be able to have it if I had Covid or a chest infection, but didn’t think a cold would be an issue.
Luckily after a lot of waiting around, conversations about my cough and sniffles with the staff, and a face to face with an on-call neurologist, I was able to have it. A bit of red tape, but the staff were on my side.
Apparently there’s a risk my cold could get worse over the next few days. (I’m sure I can cope with that), but I need to look out for my symptoms becoming significantly worse. I still let them know how I am after the weekend either way.
My main concern is that I have a cold 9 months of the year. I always have, it’s normal for me. My next drip is in Dec… anyone want to predict the next episode of this medical drama? 🙆🏼♀️ I feel like it might be a Groundhog Day
Be careful they don’t take u off it if you are always sick ? I’m currently working my way through a cold and my next jab ( Kesimpta ) is on the 14th . Ms nurse had told me that if I’m still with cold I’ll have to delay the jab till better . Ocrevus works the same way as Kesimpta just given different ways , it kills the b cells that do the damage but the b cells are our part of our wbc infection fighting cells so without these the illness could Last longer and in turn by “ topping up “ on those b cell killers and the rush through the body could have a negative effect when ill . Hope u start to feel better though soon and don’t get no lingering germs 🦠 xx
Ps im in Yorkshire uk 🇬🇧 too 😊
