Starting Tysabri (Natalizumab)

I’m starting Tysabri next week although I have a high J C virus index they’ve assured me the risk of PML in the first two years is low. I also have Ulcerative Colitis so will be stopping my current treatment of Ustekinumab and will be taking Tysabri to treat both diseases. Anyone else terrified of the risks? Feeling a bit emotional about it all, diagnosed September 2025 and recently labelled as RRMS with some progression. Need words of encouragement 🤞🏻Thank you all x

It’s very understandable to be scared and emotional! I put myself straight to bed when I got home from the appointment where they told me I was JC positive. Just one more thing to be scared about, but it’s important to remember that this is something that healthcare providers manage all the time. They understand they risks and will take all the important precautions. Is there any reason you’re starting Tysabri specifically rather than something like Kesimpta or Ocrevus?

@gemma_is_tired because they’re both bad for my ulcerative colitis 😭
