Treatment

Can someone help i am very on edge to receive this letter am still unsure what this means or how will it effect me . Your case has been reviewed by a team of MS specialists. They have decided that you are eligible for a high-efficacy disease-modifying therapy (DMT). These are some of the strongest treatments available to reduce MS activity and help prevent future relapses and new damage. The treatments they mention include: Anti-CD20 therapies (such as Ocrevus/ocrelizumab or Kesimpta/ofatumumab). Cladribine (Mavenclad). No treatment has been started yet. The letter says an MS specialist nurse will contact you to:
@RC83

What it means: When they looked at your MRIs and/or the dates when your symptoms occurred they concluded that as your relapses were happening often enough, you qualify for a strong drug (one that reduced relapses by a high percentage during a 2yr trial). How it will affect you: High efficacy DMTs should have a positive effect on your MS and make your relapses (new damage/ledions) very infrequent. However they do carry higher risks of side effects such as infections. FYI Mavenclad carries lower risks of infections compared to the other 2 but on paper its lower efficacy.

@Leeb

If they are offering DMTs, they must be fairly certain that you have MS,unfortunately. That's the bad news. Good news is they are offering you the option to reduce further damage at an early stage.
