@I've gotten prescriptions now for a mobility scooter and a reclining lift chair and my insurance has denied both now. I don't know what to do or where to go. I don't work and get disability so I have Medicaid in Michigan. The chair is an absolute must. I have an old one but it doesn't fully recline so I can't straighten my hips like I need to from time to time. Anyone have any pointers? on Shift.ms

I’m on Medical as well and live in Mi. It’s frustrating dealing with insurance. I bought my scooter off Marketplace-$450 and it’s a used one but it’s still nice. You may find something similar in a chair? There are people out there who have been in your situation and understand. Don’t be afraid to ask for help from others. My family has been great- I know not everyone is fortunate to have someone to rely on but maybe asking? Reach out to your local church- they might have resources for you. Maybe in a chair go to store and tell them about your situation- can’t hurt to ask! What if they say yes and help you?

Do you have Ms society in your state, because they can help you get the mobility equipment. Or search online for charities who can help you and buy the equipment for you
