Not to brag, but…
I’ve been here for a few days. But in that time, I’ve been doing a lot of reading on here.
One thing I’m seeing a lot of is posts about symptoms and questions about mitigation.
So here follows what I have discovered related to my own body; perhaps you’ll find something useful for your own situation:
1. Heat is the mindkiller. You should purchase a small, portable airconditioner - not those swamp cooler things at Wal*mart, either. Those are trash and they work for *maybe* a week before they break somehow - I’ve been through literally dozens of them.
They make small rolling A/C units that vent out the window. I have two of these as well as central air and they are absolutely indespensible! I paid about $100 ea. For them on eBay.
2. Zingers. This is when you *must* stretch - there is no stopping it. The stretch itself can *really* hurt for a second, too! One thing I have discovered that helps me get out of a zinger is pinching my top lip. From the sides, I grab my top lip and squeeze. The zinger melts away very quickly.
3. THC vapes. I have been smoking pot since I was 11 years old. I am now 44.
I don’t use the raw weed anymore ,but I used to. I smoke *very* high-strength THC extract >90% THCa. As a result, I have had *entire days* where I *never* feel pain. At all.
4. Adjustable bed. This was the second thing I got after my manual wheelchair. I usually am confined to my bed, including for elimination. Having the bed be adjustible if *life-changing* for so many things, in so many ways. Truly a game-changer.
5. Power wheelchair. Okay; I debated whether to include this because it cost $40,000 and my guess is not many of us can reach that. BUT; if you live in Colorado or California - maybe a few other states - they will *buy you* this hugely expensive thing you can use to go outside! It has been so vital to maintaining what remains of my mental health. Seriously: try to get yourself one of these because they are so very excellent.
6. Power lift. There is a product that will lift you from sitting on the floor to 20” of height. It is battery-powered and portable. It is called “Lift Go AX35” from Vociclift.
I paid about $500 for it, but you should be able to get one through a program or something, I would hope.
7. Powered transfer assistant. I debated whether to even mention this because it is BRAND NEW to the mobility aid market, but it is currently available from a company called, “Roundups: the Pest Zest.” It is called Zeriva. It picks up where No.6 leaves off. It will scoop you up from wherever you are seated and lift you higher. It is motorized and it has a hole in the seat so you can get to *and use* the toilet again!
8. Recumbant excercise bike. These can be quite cheap compared to the most expensive models on the market. I bought one from “Sunny Health and Fitness.” Smart Magnetic Resistance Recumbent Bike. It’s $300, but again, about two grand cheaper than a Peloton.
9. Cherry-picker-style engine hoist. This is what I was using before I could get the floor lift in #6. I also had to get a climbing harness for about 50 bucks and it was painful to use and a bit dangerous for me…but anyone with slightly decent strength in at least one limb ought to be able to use it to help lift you off of the floor.
This is all I have for now. Feel free to ask questions.

Hey I started the same year lol I was 13 and I'm two years older that you. Was good year for weed smoking I guess lol
