My theory of nerve conduction
I am *not* a doctor or healthcare professional of any kind. But I *am* an electronics engineer. I understand electricity and electrical devices in a very comprehensive way.
I read a question here (several, really)asking why MS patients have this utterly peculiar constellation of symptoms.
I have a theory about that.
The nerves are like living wires; they carry electrical signals the body uses to operate everything related to movement and cognition.
The insulation on the wires is called myelin; similar to hair or fingernails, this substance is used around the nerves to prevent the electrical signals they carry from “leaking” out.
When MS causes this myelin to degrade, the signals sent by the brain begin to leak out of the nerves carrying them. And as you know, leaky signals result in no movement or sporadic movement or a situation where in order to move something just a little, you have to “send” a very loud message. And then of course due to the variability of the signal, that message may have a different result now than last time.
Now, I’m sure most (if not all)of us are *very* temperature-sensitive.
And in that, even one degree too hot can be *WAY TOO HOT* while it can take a bit more “too cold” before it starts to hurt or cause worse paralysis.
I think I know why: the nerves are actually two-way streets; just as your brain sends signals down the wires, your skin and muscles try to send messages back *up* the wires to your brain. So whenever you have pain or you’re too hot or too cold, the signals going to your brain restrict the available bandwidth even further, resulting in it becoming even harder to move.
As for the great variation in specific symptoms at specific times, I believe all of that is explained by my theory.

Can you pls accept my friend equest this is what I'm struggling with right now
This is EXACTLY how I explain it. When people ask, I always say my "wires" are shorting out! It really is what's happening 🤷♀️ Some understand the explanation some don't. But I totally agree with this Theory
