@Hi, new here. Had MRI done today. Is that the only way to diagnose MS? Started going to this Neurologist because arms and hands go numb and tingling quite often. Sometimes during the night, go completely dead feeling. Nerve tests come back ok. This has been going on a couple years. I've started to have needle like feelings in feet, sharp random pains, extreme muscle spasms specifically in my hip/ thigh. So bad that I was screaming and crying i, pain. This lasted 3 days. Muscle relaxers,pain meds, Gabapentin did not touch it. I have random electrical zaps, my vision seems to be changing quickly. Fuzzy and sometimes reading the letters are doubled. I have been getting where I feel like I cant keep my eyes open cause Im tired even after only being up an hour or two. My short term memory is completely shot. I get random spots that get really hot occasionally.I can't regulate my temperature. Burning up or freezing. I'm sure there are other things. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2009. Some may say its that but I feel like its more. If it comes back ok, not sure where to turn next. Live with it like I have been I guess. on Shift.ms

Good evening usually an MRI is one of the best ways since they see any lesions that are present. They could do a spinal tap also to check

Did you get an MRI of your brain, cervical spine and thoracic spine with and without contrast? And same as what Borrid said, spinal tap is also used as a diagnostic tool. Check out the McDonald criteria.
