Kesimpta
So my new specialist wants to start me on kesimpta in a couple weeks. It will be the first time I will be taking anything. She said that she believes I have rrms and that it's early. I really don't want to take anything right now seeing as I don't really have any symptoms. I don't want them to start. Who is on kesimpta and what can you tell me about it
Hi! I’ve been on Kesimpta since August of 2023. I’ve done really well on it. It’s even shrunk one of the lesions on my spine. The only time I had side effects from it was when I first started but it wasn’t horrible. You just get some minor flu like symptoms that pass pretty quick.
DMTs are to slow down progression. So whilst you don’t really have any symptoms now, without DMT it’s likely you could have symptoms appearing in time. MS is unpredictable. I’ve been on Kesimpta now since November 25 without issue. A lot of people ask if it’s made my symptoms better - it’s steadied them and I tell them I’m taking Kesimpta for future me. I understand not wanting to take anything right now, and that’s your choice, but I’d have take it sooner if I could as I had a relapse in the summer that changed everything.
