Hiring a car in the UK
Just looking for some advice please. I’m trying to rent a car over the Christmas period. I’ve sold my current car in preparation for my new one but got the dreaded news it has been delayed.
Currently without a car and wanted to visit relatives over the festive period.
I’ve tried to rent a car from my local Enterprise. I was just going to book online but there was no option to define medical info. As everyone during my diagnosis reminded me, DVLA and insurers need to know. I gave them a call and I’ve been informed that they won’t rent out to people with MS.
I thought they were going to be a good bet due to their advertisement https://www.enterprise.co.uk/en/help/disabled-customers.html.
Currently non-disabled, you wouldn’t know my diagnosis if you met me in the street but we all know the joys of invisible issues.DVLA are happy with me driving (new license was issued in July). Every insurer I’ve approached for my own vehicles haven’t batted an eyelid.
Has anyone else been in a similar situation and found a company to work with?
@I_am_Tom Go somewhere else and don’t disclose your diagnosis. So long as you have insurance, keep quiet about anything else. Or get someone else to book the car for you and add you as an extra driver.
If you are having issues, get a taxi or use Uber.
