High dose iron and unhappy gut.
My last bloodwork showed that I am extremely anemic, and that's probably a big part of why I'm so fatigued. My primary care worked me up and put me on a high dose of iron supplements for about the next 2 weeks, then I go back for another iron profile. I am taking Ferrus Sulfate, which is supposed to be the most effective and easiest in terms of GI side effects, but it's been a half a day and my gut is really unhappy. Cramping, bloating, etc. She has me on a probiotic, and meds to counter the constipation and gas. Anyone have other tricks to counter an unhappy tummy? The iron supplements have started to make me feel less shaky, but it's too early for them to have reversed the additional fatigue and my anemia in general. I have about another 2 weeks of this.

Erm firstly I was told you shouldn’t take probiotics with kesimpta as that will cause gastric/ potential infection issues but I’m NOT a healthcare professional be would DEFINATELY verify that and secondly I the uk pregnant women are advised to take the iron tablets with orange juice which helps absorption & helps to counter the gastric/nausea side effects. 🤞hope this helps in some way ps feel your pain I have to take the same EVERY month (ms & heavy periods ) 😳🙄🤷♀️not my fave too ☺️
@Kiko41 ooof. I will stay away from the probiotics. Thanks!
