SSI

So question does ssi not cauterized MS as a disability? So I got the letter back saying I was denied of help from the government since I’m not blind or deaf? When I told them that I can’t walk right and that I need help when walking and also lost somewhat of my vision and can’t feel half of some of my body.I tried working before all 3 times I fainted and had heat sensitivity.

Basically if you’re working outdoors you shouldn’t with the heat, it will drain you quickly, SSI is “need based”, yes you have MS but you have to “prove” your symptoms are affecting you for work, all they will do is find other work you can do without being in the heat, my opinion though

No, it is. If you look at the SS website, it is listed as an approved condition for disability- HOWEVER, they make you jump through hoops to prove it. It is so frustrating. I was denied 3 times. After the 3rd time, you get a hearing before a judge. It’s not as scary as it sounds. She asked me about my symptoms, a few other questions about how life has changed for me etc. There was also a guy there (not sure his official title) but the judge asked him about the duties of my job and if I was capable of preforming them, or anything similar. He said no. The hearing was over in less than 15 minutes. I received a letter of approval the following week. It took just about 2 years from the time I applied to the time I was approved for SSDI. I was just lucky that I had excellent insurance through my job and had long term disability benefits.
