Prickly ear pain

This is going to sound odd, but... This week I have been having the oddest painful tingling in my left ear. Not in the ear canal but actually on the cartilage. It feels like I'm being poked with sharp needles and it's gotten gradually worse all week. Wondering whether anyone has felt similar sensations or can give a name to this odd feeling? Thanks in advance!

I’ll have similar pain when I lay down on my right side too long often while sleeping. I wake up with a pain like I’m being punched in the ear lobe or I’m getting cauliflower ear… It’s not pleasant, but after 30 minute minutes, it goes away…

Yes!! I've noticed this recently, really tingling. Thought it was my imagination to start with, because as you say, very localised.
