Suppressed immune system
Hi all, I wonder what is everyone attitude towards living with a suppressed immune system: are there things that you do or don’t do to protect yourself? Or any adjustments to daily lifestyle? How are you feeling in crowded situations? Just started DMT and just figuring out how to deal with this. Thank you
It’s really tough going living with a suppressed immune system, it’s like constantly looking out for the next virus or infection to come along, I take zinc along with health nutrition and regular exercise; fingers X it will keep the bad bugs away. 🦠
I am not really scared of going into situations where I'm more susceptible to getting ill when my immune system's suppressed. My husband caught covid one year, and couple of weeks after I had an ocrevus infusion. He was extremely worried for me, as he'd pass it onto me. We did tests. He was a strong positive (no surprise 😅), and I was negative! He was shocked, especially since our "roles" reversed: I was looking after him 🤣 I liken MS to your immune system being that powerful that, if there isn't any illness to fight, it'd go after your body instead. I know infections affect how much you can do, but the thought still counts.
