Kesimpta or Ocrevus?

Hi all, I’m newly diagnosed of RRMS. Despite I have multiple denyelinating lesions in my brain and spinal cord, my simptoms so far have been relatively mild and disappeared in a few weeks. Doctor said he thinks I should go on a highly active treatment as soon as possible to slow down the progression of the disease and avoid any significant issues in the future. I have been offered the choice between kesimpta and ocrevus and I struggle to make a decision. In terms of how it would fit in my lifestyle, I’d rather do once every 6 months infusions of Ocrevus, rather than monthly injections of kesimpta, but other 2 concerns I have in mind are 1) does Ocrevus have a higher risk of breast cancer? I am genetically at risk so quite concerned about this one. On the leaflet though it says they have noticed an higher number of people getting breast cancer on the clinical trial but still within range so it is not certain a link between this med and risk of cancer 2) apparently you have to stop ocrevus 12 months before trying for a pregnancy, whereas for kesimpta is 6 months, which makes me think that I would have to be on a longer break from treatment if I decide to go for ocrevus. Does anyone have any thoughts or experience on that? Thank you so much

Hi, sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I’m starting Kesimpta in a few weeks. My main reasons are the convenience of the injection and being able to do this at home. It takes minutes then it’s done with. Whereas the infusion I believe can take up to 6 hours in hospital. I think more people have injection site issues too and you have to be monitored whilst administering it to check you aren’t having a reaction. Plus to me if I were to have major side effects Kesimpta is only in my system for a short while rather than 6 months like the infusion. Also people so report a crap gap a month or two before their next infusion. This is all I’ve found out but obviously haven’t tried either yet. Both are meant to be 70% (highly efficient) X

1) No significant additional risk of breast cancer in my logical opinion. 2) Don't know sorry, never been pregnant. If I was starting my first DMT now it would be Kesimpta 100% .
