Demyelinating nerve disease suspected 5 years ago

I'm currently hospitalized in a town away from home. About 4–5 years ago, I had multiple lesions on my cervical and thoracic spine, plus hyperintensities throughout my brain (especially frontal lobe). The neurologist charged $400/visit with no insurance coverage. Has anyone here experienced total paralysis—like being unable to walk, bilateral numbness, or lift your own torso off the bed? My husband had to physically pull me upright. Symptoms now: Brain feels "on fire" Cognitive decline, fine motor loss (drop dishes, can't grip) Vision changes Emotional dysregulation (constant fear) New: facial numbness, arms numb with painful pins/needles Sudden severe hypertension—spikes so high I thought I was having a stroke, heart attack, or asthma attack I traveled from Texas to Chicago Nov 2–6. On the night of the 6th, I woke up feeling drunk—dizzy, off-balance, disoriented—though I don’t drink at all. By morning I was completely bedbound. Steroids from the prior hospital helped temporarily, but symptoms return as they wear off. Doctors say I show clear signs of multiple sclerosis, but I can't get timely neurology follow-up and no one takes me seriously. Local Odessa neurologists are rushed, expensive, and see me at 1–2 a.m. when I'm barely conscious. Speech is slurred—like a mouthful of marbles—then briefly clears, then worsens again. I'm terrified this is "all in my head." Finding this group makes me feel less alone for the first time in years. Am I crazy, or is this real?

I don’t believe it’s all in your head. It’s real. Yes it could be ms. It also could nmo or transverse myelitis.. the key is to find quality medical help .. specialized ms background. Have you checked with your county to see if they have resources that can help u?
