Drop foot vs leg weakness
I've noticed over the past few weeks that even though they both come from over pushing myself they are very different. So drop foot seems to stem from down in the calf area and I've found leg weakness is upper in the thigh/hamstring area. So if im gonna collapse due to muscle weakness its not as related to drop foot as I thought, its a different muscle area that is triggered. I do alot of shadow boxing standing still and its not drop foot but leg weakness, after some time I can barely stand and need to rest to let strength come back
Where as when im out a walk, its not just leg weakness but drop foot which seems to come lower in the calf area but it activates before leg weakness if im walking, leg muscle weakness will happen but that is collapsing not just dragging and watching for tripping.
I hope that makes sense. I've spent the last 3 weeks pushing my limits and those 2 although can be similar...are different muscles that are activating them 😔
But that is just my experience, perhaps you have a different one or can she'd a different side to this? 😊
I think I get what you mean, I have been told I have foot drop but probably guess symptoms are quite close to you. I feel my most weakness comes from the hip flexer and I am unable to do a straight leg lift. But also my ankle does not raise either, I feel I can "wing" walking ok for about 4000 steps, then the effort becomes a lot and the legs drags badly. However, I have recently had the opportunity to try a FES machine that works on the lower part of leg lifting the foot and it actually worked and on the trial increased the walking speed. So recommend going to a neuro physio and getting them to work it out for you.
I have the same issue as you and mine has improved since I started magnesium glycanate and B12 jabs.
