Funny story about how I was diagnosed with optic neuritis. I had a sharp stabbing pain, blurry vision and the colour was washed out in my right eye. So I spoke to my neurologist and when it didn't clear up after four wekes and I got referred to a specialist optician. Not funny yet but, when I went to see the optician at his clinic he literally did a little jump and a clap after he reviewed the imagery and saw I had optic neuritis. He apologised but explained diagnosing optic neuritis always made him sad as he knew it was almost always the start of someone's path to being diagnosed with MS. In my case I already had MS so he felt like he'd actually helped me and hadn't felt that he had helped a patient in a long time
