My friends don't add up to one hand

Technically that's not quite true, but it's close enough, and I felt it appropriate not to miss quote the one and only Mark E Smith RIP My point is, I definitely don't have as many as I used to, and from reading other's posts I get the impression I'm not alone in this. Well, those fairweather friends who bail when the old health starts to faulter, they aren't worth mourning. For anyone newly diagnosed who may be dealing with this, or anyone who's health may be worse than it was and noticing this happening, don't sweat it. For what it's worth, my advice is to put that energy into self care. Put that energy into strengthening the relationships with the people who did stick around and any new friends you make along the way who want to help and don't want or expect anything but friendship in return

Wise words & flipping a situation & making it positive! Friends that 'leave' because of your MS were never really friends at all

Technically you have the same amount of friends, just having a chronic illness helped expose the ones who weren't really your friend to begin with.
